MEANIG OF THE LETTER ”F"
The other day, an elderly lady I know asked me about the meaning of the letter F which she had noticed in her passport.
“That is the abbreviation of the word 'female' which means the opposite sex of male”, I answered.
“Then why don’t they use woman or lady?” was the second question from her.
I was perplexed, and didn't know how to answer.
Finally I answered to her after a few minutes that they used the word “F(female)” to express gender only from a biological standpoint .
